Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share news~A post to recap the past week on the blog and showcase books and things we have received.

I’ve been preparing for Blogoween, Fraterfest and for the Countdown to Halloween looking for scary books to read next month.

I’m so excited to be participating in this years Halloween festivities. I’ll probably be posting on my other blog @ Jackie’s Bookbytes. If you want to join and/or want to know more about these events click the links and a new tab will open.

In other news, it snowed on Friday. We went from fire and smoke to freezing rain and fog :/ Wonderful autumn so far. Just ducky.

It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a place to meet up and share what you have been, are and about to be reading over the week.

What I added to my Audible Library

In Canada, we got to download David Copperfield audiobook for free in honour of Audible Canada’s first year anniversary and enter to win some prizes.

1. David Copperfield [audible]
Written by: Charles Dickens
Narrated by: Richard Armitage
Length: 36 hrs and 30 mins
Publisher Summary
This epic, exuberant novel is one of the greatest coming-of-age stories in literature, chronicling David Copperfield’s extraordinary journey through life as he encounters villains, saviours, eccentrics, and grotesques – including the wicked Mr. Murdstone, stouthearted Peggotty, formidable Betsey Trotwood, impecunious Micawber, and the odious Uriah Heep. Dickens’ great novel (based, in part, on his own boyhood and which he described as a “favourite child”) is a work filled with life, both comic and tragic.

Listen to Richard Armitage bring Dickens’ words to life, and you’ll understand why Virginia Woolf called David Copperfield “the most perfect of all the Dickens novels”.

2. Trying to Live with the Dead
by B. L. Brunnemer
Narrated by: Kris Koscheski, Carla Mercer-Meyer

3. The Vampire Stories of Nancy Kilpatrick
by Nancy Kilpatrick
Narrated by Holly Adams

I also watched episode 13 Season 4 of Fear the Walking Dead. This show has taken a turn for the worse. Idk. I don’t particularly like John Dorie anymore. All’s he seems to care about is Naomi candy. Is it Halloween or something? lol. I also think that witchy black woman is scary. Is it me or is Morgan leading them towards Rick Grimes and Alexandria? They appear to be heading in that direction maybe?

Snow? That seems rather rude of the weather ha ha. And I’m so glad to see the Halloween events coming too. I’m doing FraterFest and just saw Blogoween today, I’ll have to check that other one out. I love October events!

I’m so behind on Fear the Walking Dead, I just watched episode 5 tonight and will be catching up soon, but I have issues with this season too. I know of a certain character death that’s coming and I’m not happy. I’m not sure how I feel about them heading for Alexandria either, if that’s where we’re going. I always liked that this show was separate and did its own thing. And Sabrina looks crazy- yikes!

Ya, season 4 did not start out very good but I think it is getting better . They brought in about 4 new characters.

  2. The Sabrina reboot truly IS a reboot! I love the idea of it and will defo be watching!

Hows the listen of Magic Bites going? I ADORE the Kate Daniels series (one of my all time favs) but I found book one to be the weakest of them all and quite hard to get into. Thankfully, it was interesting enough for me to keep going because book two takes off with a bang and the series goes from strength to strength! 🙂

Well, I’m listening to it on audio and I’m only on chapter 2. So far so good and reading it online for free. https://novel12.com/magic-bites/-chapter-2-83681.htm I am also looking forward to the Sabrina show

  3. There’s nothing like David Copperfield, I think. Dickens is wonderful. I hope you enjoy it.

Snow? Really? While we swelter in 90+ degree F weather in September? Oh my!

From smoke to snow is not a good change. Here’s hoping you get some nice weather your way! I loved Pieces of Her! Hope you did, too. Still haven’t finished The Walking Dead so I haven’t even thought to start FTWD. Sorry to hear it hasn’t been up to par lately. Happy reading and thanks for visiting my blog! 🙂

Jackie how’s Fear of the walking dead? Looking for new Netflix series as I have just finished my favourites, The Originals and The Vampire Diaries. Have started Riverdale, so we’ll see how that goes.

I’m intrigued with Blogoween, are all your posts have to be Halloween related?

    1. Jackie says:

Hi Angelica, Yes to Blogoween/halloween related posts. I watch Fear the walking dead on youtube and the show pretty much is their own version of the zombie apocalypse. It’s pretty good, but now, I’m having to wait for each episode and I hate that with a passion . I don’t think it’s on Netflix

Snow? Good grief! I don’t want any until after Halloween. Speaking of, scary books aren’t really my thing. I’m too suggestible. I do hope you enjoy all the scary books you find. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

  13. Good luck on all the Halloween and Fall posts!! Can’t wait to see them! I love this time of year!! I am not jealous of your snow just yet but we are having unseasonably warm weather and it just doesn’t feel like fall!

I don’t think anybody envies snowy weather right now. This afternoon the sun came out and I feel back to normal again. The lack of sun really affected my mood and I was becoming so grumpy.

I cant wait to read Pieces of Her, the book is currently at my parents house, I forgot it there last time I visited. What did you think of it? Enjoy all your new reads.

    1. Jackie says:

Hi Jovita, well, I only listened to it on audio and I fell asleep twice so it’s my fault for not paying attention to everything. I would prefer reading the book. However, it did not thrill me although the narrator was excellent.
