Jackie's Forget Me Nots

No vase can overflow if you never fill it up.

The Sunday Post is a weekly meme hosted by Kim @ Caffeinated Book Reviewer. It’s a chance to share the news. A post to recap the past week, showcase books and things we have received and share news about what is coming up for the week on our blog.

The Brightest Embers (Broken Destiny, #3)The Sweetest Burn (Broken Destiny, #2)The Beautiful Ashes (Broken Destiny #1)

I have almost finished the last book in the Broken Destiny trilogy by Jeaniene Frost. I persevered, and it wasn’t as bad as I thought. Yay for bloody paranormal romance! The novels feature Archons aka angels, and demons, a Gargoyle, and a couple of humans, Jasmine and Costa. We follow Ivy’s journey and discover she is the last descendant of David. With this privilege, she can wield some hallowed weapons such as a slingshot, the staff of Moses, and Longinus’ spear to save humanity from all hell breaking loose, literally. We discover Demetrius and Adrian are demons and Adrian is the last descendant of Judas Iscariot who is fated and strongly attracted to Ivy and vice versa. Also, the angel they call Zach is Michael.

My reading has been on pause since the summer started, which means I am 9 books behind my Goodreads Reading Challenge, but I am proud to say I have worked my way up to jogging 3 to 4 times a week! That has been going well although I found out recently I have degenerative disk disease and arthritis, which explains why I can hardly get out of bed in the morning and I am in constant pain in the lower back area. Tylenol helps immensely with that though.

What I enjoyed on Netflix this week. I really liked the Suicide Squad featuring crazy supervillains like the Joker, Harley Quinn, and star casts such as Will Smith. Very cool. I was not familiar with the rest of the cast but it was a fun fantasy full of action.

I hope everyone had some fun this week!

Sorry to hear about the arthritis/ degenerative disk, but glad you’ve been able to jog. I know someone with arthritis who wants to exercise more to help with symptoms, but the pain/ discomfort level makes it hard to exercise more- a vicious circle. Thanks goodness for Tylenol. When I had surgery recently and was recovering, Tylenol was a definite lifesaver. 🙂

Hope you have a nice week!

Yes, in fact, walking helps a lot, and I have incorporated jogging. Maybe one day the degenerative disk will reverse itself. I am hopeful anyway 🙂 Thanks for stopping by Gregg 🙂

  2. Oh no, that’s too bad to hear about your back… and my reading has been slower in the summer too. There are just so many more real life things to do in summer!
    Have a nice week 🙂

  3. I have also been plagued by degenerative disk disease…and had back surgery in 1993. My pain is at a manageable level most of the time these days…but then I might forget, and do something I shouldn’t. Just lifting a rather light vacuum cleaner can put me behind for days. Sigh.

Hang in there. I use my recumbent bicycle for exercise….

On Netflix, I’m hooked on Orange Is the New Black…and I am eagerly awaiting a new season of Ozark.

Enjoy your week, and here are MY WEEKLY UPDATES

My chiropractor sent me for an MRI recently, and it showed that I had DDD and the beginnings of arthritis. I now take tylenol for pain but walking and jogging certainly help with pain that’s for sure.

I have to. It is one of the first things I do after I wake up in the morning, before eating and drinking. It is the only time I don’t feel pain.

  5. Glad to hear Tylenol helps with your illness. Managing to job is great. Jogging has never been my thing, but I do enjoy walking.

I am learning to enjoy walking, I never did before but jogging is for weight loss and it makes me feel better.

  6. Congrats on the jogging, but sorry about the arthritis. I jog 3 times and week, and my body always hurts because if it. It’s hard to tell if I’m sore from jogging or something else. Enjoy your books and Netflix.
